While CBD is supposed to contain less than 1% (as this ensures no psychotropic effect), without FDA approval, you can’t be sure that’s true. It’s not approved as a dietary supplement or food additive and it isn’t legal to use in any food product either, especially in a commercial setting such as a restaurant. Food and drink-infused with CBD remain a risk, whether a little or a lot is used. The fact remains the FDA does not approve the use of Cannabidiol in food and the scientific evidence lacks somewhat. Of course, there will be people who say CBD is fine and they’re happy to take the risk. Others won’t agree. It’s a murky area that causes a lot of confusion and frustration. CBD in food remains a major risk for any consumer and you should think twice before using it.
